The Lime Kiln Trail, just east of Granite Falls, delivers that in a cruiser of a hike that features a history lesson along with riverside beauty. The hike back across the tree trunk bridge at the washout and down to the lime kilns is just as pleasant. After a very scenic half mile walk down the trail, following for the most part the creek, you will eventually arrive at the four, hundred-foot-tall historic kilns.
